What is a Location?
A location represents a physical site for your business — an office, branch, clinic, or storefront. Locations help you organize phone numbers by site, track per-location call activity, and route notifications to the right people.
Creating a Location
- Go to Locations → Add Location
- Fill in the location details:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A name for this site (e.g., "Downtown Office," "Main Clinic") |
| Address | Street address for reference |
| Timezone | The timezone this location operates in |
| Active | Whether the location is currently in use |
Editing a Location
Click on any location to open the edit page. From here you can update the location settings and manage assignments:
- Settings — name, address, timezone, active status
- Phone Numbers — assign or unassign numbers via a side panel
- Notification Emails — set email addresses that receive alerts for this location
Assigning Numbers to a Location
- On the location edit page, find the Phone Numbers card
- Click Manage to open the side panel
- Toggle numbers on or off — assigned numbers appear with a checkmark
You can also assign a number to a location from the Numbers page by selecting a location in the dropdown.
A number is always answered by the agent assigned to that number. Moving a number to a location moves its agent's coverage with it.
Notification Emails
Each location can have its own notification email addresses. When calls or requests come in for numbers assigned to this location, notifications are sent to these emails in addition to any business-wide notification settings.
How Locations Connect to Agents
Agents are linked to locations only through the phone numbers they staff. If a number is routed to an agent and assigned to a location, that agent serves that location. There is no separate agent→location assignment — the numbers are the single source of truth, matching how calls are actually routed.
- To add an agent to a location, assign a number with that agent to the location.
- To remove an agent from a location, reassign the number's agent or move the number to a different location.
- To see which agents serve a location, open the location — the Agents card lists the distinct agents across its assigned numbers.
Requires Admin or Super Admin role to create or edit locations.
